Full Version: P. Reed plumb bobbing!!

He even brings his putter to plumb bob at basketball games! Larry will be proud. Reed is one of the best putters, his success proves that plumb bobbing works if you know how to use it.

Obviously a fraud. There is no break on a basketball court. Unless it's a fast break.

I assure you there is a slight break on the basketball court...the plumb bob would show it.

Maybe with a real plumb bob to find the vertical reference line, especially since a basketball court floor is almost completely flat and the walls are almost completely perpendicular to the floor. Laser measurements would be much quicker and more accurate.

But not using a putter dangling in front of your face.

You are being silly with this "plumb bob" nonsense for reading putts.

Not silly, the Plumb Bob HAS WORKED for TOO MANY terrific putters beginning with Jack Nicklaus...& continues to win tournaments today & last Sunday for Satoshi Kodaira. And about the basketball court, a hanging putter would show you the break...my son & I both rolled in 114’ putts in a putting contest...we plumb bobbed the putt...had a break of 5-6’ & the PB worked perfectly...it works!

As long as you think it works. That's all that really matters.

He has to say stuff like that in order to shill his 'book'.

Not to shill my book, but to help folks improve their putting.
In fact, I recently comp’ed 255 copies of my book to The 2ND ANNUAL GLOBAL POST TRAUMATIC STRESS INJURY FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENTS. To help facilitate access to an innovative biological treatment for Veterans and all others who have faced traumatic experiences and are suffering from post-traumatic stress injuries.

Don't dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back.

Humble Bragging is a form of shilling.

Not shilling at all. I’ve also comp’ed a number of GEAers here on the boards that have been struggling with their putting.

What's your book on putting say? Or are you just kvetching at the man in the arena?

I think all of us have gotten a little tired of hearing from the plum bob evangelist. After 6,783 posts on the topic, we get it already. I think he does it more as a troll these days than anything.

Yes, we could stop reading those posts, but they seem to pop up all over the place - or, at least it feels like it.

As Chris pointed out, if anyone even mentions plumb bobbing in a thread title, you know he's going to come into the thread, tell you how the person referenced is not performing a correct plumb bob, tell you how good he is at the technique, and then offer you instruction in his Best Selling manual. As Chris said, it gets to be too much.

I wish he'd develop a passion for meme's and gifs so he wouldn't keep derailing that thread with his inane text conversations. If you can get him to do that, I'll hold my tongue on plumb bobbing. Fair enough? You have your work cut out for you. :-)

Nope. I enjoy Larry’s comments on plumb bobbing. I may even try it myself one day.
