Yep, great toe-tapper with a catchy chorus. . . . .and totally about a lifelong alcoholic in the depths of the DTs asking, nay begging, someone to stop him before deciding eff it, give me another drink.

Possibly the saddest song I've heard in awhile

----------------------------------------------------------------

S.O.B.
Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

I'm gonna need someone to help me
I'm gonna need somebody's hand
I'm gonna need someone to hold me down
I'm gonna need someone to care
I'm gonna writhe and shake my body
I'll start pulling out my hair
I'm going to cover myself with
The ashes of you and nobody's gonna give a ####

Son of a ####
Give me a drink
One more night
This can't be me
Son of a ####
If I can't get clean
I'm gonna drink my life away

Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

Now for seventeen years I've been throwing them back
Seventeen more will bury me
Can somebody please just tie me down
Or somebody give me a #### drink

Son of a ####
Give me a drink
One more night
This can't be me
Son of a ####
If I can't get clean
I'm gonna drink my life away

My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me
My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me
My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me
My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me

Son of a ####
Give me a drink
One more night
This can't be me
Son of a ####
If I can't get clean
I'm gonna drink my life away

Son of a ####
Give me a drink
Son of a ####
This can't be me
Son of a ####
If I can't get clean
I'm gonna drink my life away

Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

A bit reminiscent of "Little Bitty Pretty One".

Rateliff moved to Denver when he was 18 to pursue a career as a folk and gospel singer. As the years went by, he became very popular in the local music scene but found no success outside Denver. In 2014, he decided to go a completely different direction.
He put together a new band (The Night Sweats) which plays a soul/gospel/blues fusion. They are superb. Here's a couple more good ones.

Can't be any good. No back up dancers.

Actually, thanks much for sharing.

Right on point. There are a lot of songs I liked a lot better before I understood and thought about the words (like Lola)

There's nothing subtle about this song. It's about one thing -- SEX. Hot, sweaty, dirty sex.

It's simply brilliant.

Two more great songs from their new album.

The bass player, Joseph Pope, plays both left and right handed. He plays fingerstyle left handed and uses a pick right handed.

There have been a few catchy tunes that were pretty sad. Willie Nelson's "Whiskey River" comes to mind. And Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" was the catchiest pro-suicide song I ever heard.
