Do u hit down on the driver?

quote: steve (HAPPYMD8899)Even with a 15* 3wood, I put the ball in the middle of my stance and try to hit down on the ball - meaning I make contact during the downswing just before the apex.

With the driver, I put the ball way more forward near my left foot, and tilt my spine away from the target.

Am I doing it wrong? Should the driver swing be the same as 3wood swings? I must admit, I am much less consistent with my driver than 3wd.

IMO you are doing it right in theory - just check it on video or with a pro.

My swing feels the same for all clubs. My ball position is different for driver.

For irons, the ball is placed in the middle of my stance and I contact the ball before the bottom of my swing arc. For driver, the ball is placed AFTER the bottom of the swing arc (farther forward as you do) AND it helps to tilt behind the ball/keep your head back.

But the feel of the swing is the same.

How do you find a lawyer?

quote: pargolfI'm looking for a lawyer to help me with my will. Most of my friend's have no clue how to find one other than suggesting that I search online.

Is it just a shot in the dark or is there a secret to finding a good lawyer?

Also, how much does it cost for them to write my will?

Hi Pargolf:

Personal referral, AND/OR call your local bar association (Montgomery County Bar Association/Rockville Bar Assoc/DC Bar Assoc) and they can give you referrals. Then meet the attorney and listen to what he has to say...if the "strategy" sounds similar then you know you're on the right track. Wills and estates are very personal, so it's important to like who you use. You may also consider talking to a financial advisor or an estate planning person....all have slightly different strategies to do what you want with your assets upon your "passage". :)

A will can run from a couple hundred to $1,000. And depending on your circumstance it may or may NOT be what you need.

I'm in your area - email or PM me and I can try to help.

You haven't been following along in the thread.

Sergio has won the tournament with a birdie on 17.

When going for birdie, par is failure, par does not = out of it.

According to past performance statistics, Sergio had 25% chance of birdie on 18.

"Going for it when you're down is one thing...going for it on risky hole like that when you're tied means you have no confidence."

That is the funniest thing in this thread I have read. A professional golfer going for it on a 137y hole with a huge green means he has no confidence....LOL

In your mind, what would a professional NOT going for it on a 137y hole with a huge green mean?

An opinion on the directional issues with your drivers.

I had a Taylormade Burner driver that I hit well except for the fact that the ball almost always had a tendency to curve to the right.

A buddy of mine had an almost identical Taylormade Burner driver that I hit a few times at the range. I hit his club very close to straight on 9 out of 10 hits.

Looking at the two drivers together it was obvious that my friends driver had a face angle that was 2 to 3 degrees closed compared to the face on my old driver.

He had just bought another new driver so he agreed to swap his old one with me. Yeah!!

The point is... it may not be entirely the difference in shaft flex that accounts for any tendency for the ball to go left or right but the face angle of the clubhead.
